New Mexico needs more housing, and solving the shortage will require collaboration across the public and private sectors.
NMHBA is helping lead that conversation through the newly launched Housing Abundance Coalition, bringing together housing advocates, industry leaders, policymakers, employers, and communities around practical solutions to increase housing supply and affordability throughout the state.
The Coalition is focused on issues that directly affect New Mexico’s ability to build the housing it needs, including permitting delays, infrastructure, development costs, regulatory barriers, and policies that can make it easier to create more housing options.
Recent KOB-TV, KUNM, and SourceNM coverage highlight the opportunities and how permitting challenges, limited housing supply, and rising construction costs are affecting communities across New Mexico and why the Coalition’s work to address these barriers matters.
