As the residential construction labor shortage continues nationwide, a new tool from the University of Denver, https://ConstructionSkillsMap.org, makes it easier to find training opportunities in #skilledtrades across the country. The project was funded by the National Housing Endowment (NHE), the National Association of Home Builders-NAHB’s philanthropic arm.
With 305,000 construction openings across the country in June 2026, the skilled labor shortage hinders housing production. Schools and apprenticeships offer training for people who could fill these openings, but finding and comparing opportunities can be difficult. ConstructionSkillsMap helps by bringing local and national programs together on one searchable database.
